By Michael Brundy
A lifetime of stories. One simple practice.
Everyone loves stories. We learn through stories. We are entertained by stories. We are moved by them, persuaded by them, and we remember them long after the slides have faded. If you want to make a point, the best way is to tell a story — and if you're going to tell a story, it should have a purpose.
That is the working philosophy Michael Brundy has lived by for decades as a speaker, author, and champion of the oral storytelling tradition. Make a Point, Tell a Story gathers the stories he has used in conference halls, classrooms, sanctuaries, and boardrooms — every one of them paired with the point it was born to carry.

The Backstory
Why this book had to be written.
Michael grew up in a family where the kitchen table was a stage and the front porch was a classroom. Long before he stood behind a podium, he was standing on a chair retelling something his grandmother had said — and watching the room lean in.
Over forty years of speaking, teaching, and leading, one pattern kept repeating itself: the points people remembered were the ones tucked inside a story. The frameworks evaporated. The bullet points faded. But the story about the wrestling mat, or the speech contest, or the father who said the right thing at the right time — those stuck.
Make a Point, Tell a Story is the book Michael wished he had when he was starting out. It is part memoir, part craft manual, part invitation. Every chapter holds a true story, names the point it is making, and leaves the reader with something they can try the very next time they open their mouth.
